Y’all!! This has been such a crazy year! I could share my thoughts on all that’s been going on here, but that’s really something for another post. I started out this year so excited to grow, to get more involved in the blogging community & spread my wings, & then BAM! COVID 😑 So nothing went according to plan, & overtime came in abundance again at work, which I am thankful for during this time in which many aren’t so fortunate. But it certainly put a damper on my personal goals for the year- no getting out there & meeting new people & networking & growing. Just work, kids, sleep, repeat for me.

Through the craziness of the year that has been 2020, I haven’t had much inspiration for what to write & share here, although I’ve still sporadically shared on the social media pages. I’ve long thought that it’d be great to have someone I could trust to work with me here on the blog & on the social media pages, but wasn’t sure what that would look like. After receiving a call to write a book for single moms (more details to come in the future), God also showed me what to specifically seek out in a blogging partner, how to get her attention, & then WHO & WHEN to reach out to! I’ve known this beautiful woman since high school, & we’ve both seen the fruits of God’s amazing grace in each other’s lives, & I can’t think of a more perfect person to partner with me in this journey! Hey y’all! My name is Renee. I am a warrior for Christ. My husband and I have been married for 7 years. Our blended family has 1 son and 3 daughters. God blessed my stepson and his wife with their first child this past March so I’m getting to experience being a grandma very early in life. My stepdaughter got married in June allowing us the pleasure of gaining a son-in-law. My daughter just turned 10 in August so we have been enjoying her new found independence and sometimes bashing our heads at her new found attitude. My oldest stepdaughter passed away in April 2014 from an unknown heart condition while she was 21 weeks pregnant with our first grandson, who passed with her.

My story involves so much more than just blending a family though. I’ve been through childhood abandonment, bullying, a narcissistic marriage, divorce, single parenting, remarriage, anxiety, depression, PTSD and enough grief to make the Grim Reaper jealous. I know that God has trusted me with these struggles so I can help others walk through them. When we are in the midst of a storm it’s hard to see the bigger picture. That’s why my goal is to show others that they aren’t alone and their fears don’t have to control them.

A few random facts about me:

I love to cook but never follow recipes to the letter. I also never measure ingredients.

I am Type 2 on the Enneagram with a close second of Type 7.

I love math! I took Algebra 2 in college over a 2 week winter session and aced it with a 98%.

My favorite chapter in the Bible is Psalm 23. My favorite book, Traveling Light by Max Lucado, is an in-depth study of Psalm 23.

I believe wholeheartedly that a gift should be given from one heart to another. Sentiment is key.

I love the mountains and snow but equally love the beach (as long as it’s not above 90 degrees).

My ultimate goal in life is to hear “Well done” at those pearly gates.
