Bold

In Christ, you are bold. You have the freedom to go boldy to the throne of God, with every request, openly, frankly, confidently, & fearlessly.

Since we have such a hope, we are very bold. -2 Corinthians 3:12

The hope this verse refers to, is the new covenant we have through Christ- a better covenant, based in better promises, than the old testament covenant God made with Moses. It is because of this hope, we have the freedom to be so bold. Thayer’s Greek Lexicon describes the original text parresia as meaning “unreservedness in speech… cheerful courage… of the undoubting confidence of Christians relative to their fellowship with God.”

Philippians 1:14 tells us to “dare more greatly to speak the word without fear.” This tells us that, in Christ, we have such a boldness, not only do we get to go directly to our Father with all of our requests, with confidence that He loves us & wants to give us our hearts desires, we get to share the gospel truth with all who have ears to hear, just as boldly as Christ Himself did. Just as Paul requested prayer from the Ephesians, we should pray for ourselves & each other, “that divine utterance” would be given to us, to “boldly make known the mystery of the gospel,” just as we should, according to the Great Commission (Mark 16:15).

Enjoy the boldness you have been given. Bring ALL of your desires to Him, confident in His love for you, & then share His goodness with all who will listen.
