Hello, Fall Hair

After all the hustle & bustle of getting the kids back to school & finally starting to feel like we’re getting settled into a good routine, what momma doesn’t need a little self-care? Any of you mommas out there know how hard it can be to find both the time & the budget to get out & pamper yourself a little, so I was elated when my colorist Edith at Shears Studio told me she was wanting to do a mom’s hair for free this month, & had picked me! (Um, FAVOR! Thank you Jesus! THIS is what happens, when you bring SPECIFIC requests to Him! 😉 ) She has been doing my hair for a couple of years now, & her work is always beautiful! Bonus- I love knowing that when I go to her, I’m supporting a local Christian small business.

Shears has a welcoming atmosphere, & I love the fall touches! It’s always clean & well kept, & Edith & Karen are both always so friendly!

I’m always finding beautiful hair color ideas on Pinterest, so anytime I go to see Edith, I’ve got some inspiration photos ready to share with her. I always lean towards shades of red, but had been wanting to start going more blonde lately, so this was my inspiration:

I was loving this copper/strawberry blonde color on the left, but really wanted the roots to be more of that auburn red on the right, because we all know hair color end fades & changes with time, & I can’t be in the salon like that to keep it up, so I wanted to make sure that as the color fades & my hair grows, it will blend together well.

Here’s my hair before Edith did her magic, almost a full year after she gave me a rose gold bayalage:

Tip: Don’t let your single momma budget cause you to trust that Pinterest post that says the “ponytail method” is great for trimming your own hair between salon visits! I had no idea that layer back there looked like that lol

As you can see, I was waaaaay overdue for some fresh color, & Edith worked her magic with some Paul Mitchell color & fixed my layers for me too 🙂

She always matches my new color to the inspiration colors so well, she is truly gifted at the work she does!
