If you’re new to the blog, we’ve been looking at what being “in Christ” means- WHO we are, in Him. This week’s word is “ambassador.”
We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making His appeal through us. – 2 Corinthians 5:20
An ambassador is a representative of another person or entity.
As ambassadors for Christ, we represent Him everywhere we go. When people know that you are a Christian, they watch you. They want to see if you’re going to act just like the rest of the world, or like the “religious” people they know who’ve proven through actions or lifestyle to be hypocrites. Or if you’re the real deal, a true Christian who represents all that Jesus stood for when on the earth- all that He still stands for to this day. When we wake up every day, we should be putting on Christ, wearing Him everywhere we go, letting Him shine through us. In any situation, what we say or do, or how we react, we are representing Him. We have been authorized to represent God’s Kingdom, to speak as His emissary & spread His message- that He is good, He loves all people & is not “out to get” anyone. Represent Him well!
